The emergence of new technologies and enhanced connectivity have spurred the exponential growth of health data. Unfortunately, a vast quantity of this remains hidden in private or proprietary and project specific registries. Organisations face hurdles in their efforts to construct large-scale data bases. President of the European Commission von der Leyen and German Health Minister Jens Spahn have recently announced that they will strive towards creating a “European Health Data Space” to realise the full potential of health data. Together with health data experts from industry, science & patient representatives we want to take a look at this proposal in depth and ask “Does Europe need a Health Data space”?
This session will be held in English.
